Mental Health First Aid Training

Mental Health First Aid training is a practical, evidence-based course designed to give you the knowledge, confidence and skills to support someone experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.

Delivered in an engaging and accessible way, this two-day workshop goes beyond theory — it focuses on helping you recognise what to look for, understand what might be happening for someone, and feel confident in how to respond.

Throughout the training, you’ll learn to identify the signs and symptoms of common mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, substance use and crisis situations. More importantly, you’ll learn how to approach someone you’re concerned about, start a meaningful conversation, and offer initial support in a way that feels calm, respectful and appropriate.

What to expect?

  • how to recognise when someone may be struggling

  • how to approach and have a supportive conversation

  • how to respond to both emerging concerns and crisis situations

  • how to encourage appropriate professional help

  • how to support someone while maintaining your own boundaries

This training is suitable for workplaces, teams, sporting clubs and organisations who want to better understand mental health and create environments where people feel supported and understood.

By the end of the course, participants become accredited Mental Health First Aiders (MHFAiders), with certification valid for three years.

More than that, they leave feeling more confident, more aware, and better equipped to respond when it matters most, whether that’s in the workplace, at home, or in their community.
